My name is Monica Casanova and for the last three years I have served as your Fairfield Township Trustee. I was motivated to run for Trustee after reading about the Trustee’s refusal to share public information regarding finances or answering to the board about basic questions such as the number of people being assisted at a given time.
My platform was to provide accountability, transparency, and help for those in need in our community. In the last 3 years I have accomplished: opening the Township office full-time, providing more financial assistance than ever before, and hiring professional staff. The Greenbush cemetery has been refreshed and a columbarium added for unclaimed ashes. I am leaving the office with a solid financial footing and a professional team to carry on the work.
You ask, why take on the Recorder’s office? While the office doesn't have the corruption issues that the trustee's office did, I think there is a lot I can do to streamline, modernize, and improve efficiency at the Recorder’s office. I am a true believer in collaboration and leveraging technology to improve the user experience at all levels with colleagues, customers, and community stakeholders. That is why I choose to run for the Recorder’s office.
